About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN)- Med Surg/Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment in Springfield, VT. This is an adaptive acuity unit where travelers may be asked to provide PCU care with a 3:1 ratio. Charge nurse experience is required for this need. Time off requests must be noted and verified at upload, with no more than 5 days accepted. Travelers must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of CURRENT med surg/tele experience
  • Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience strongly required
  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • DRIP EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
  • Must have CHARGE EXPERIENCE
  • Small critical access facility experience preferred
  • Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
  • TRAVELER MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT TO ANY INPATIENT UNIT WITHIN THEIR SCOPE OF PRACTICE
  • MINIMUM 3 months previous travel experience is required
  • Must have experience with Insulin drips, emolol drips and sodium drips
  • Must have Active American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Small critical access facility experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring post-operative patients’ levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and providing updates to the treatment team as needed.
  • Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed.
  • Regularly checking vital signs to quickly intercept any potential issues and ensure a smooth recovery.
  • Keeping bandages, dressings, etc. clean, dry, and safe.
  • Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
  • Updating charts, patient files, and medical records.
