About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN)- Med Surg/Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment in Springfield, VT. This is an adaptive acuity unit where travelers may be asked to provide PCU care (3:1 ratio), which is non-negotiable. Charge nurse duties are also required for this need. Time off requests must be noted and verified at upload, with no more than 5 days accepted. Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work specific holiday blocks if scheduled/needed. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.

Requirements

2+ years of CURRENT med surg/tele experience
Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience strongly required
ICU experience strongly preferred
DRIP EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
CHARGE EXPERIENCE
Small critical access facility experience preferred
Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
TRAVELER MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT TO ANY INPATIENT UNIT WITHIN THEIR SCOPE OF PRACTICE
MINIMUM 3 months previous travel experience is required
Must have experience with Insulin drips, emolol drips and sodium drips
Must have Active American Heart Association ACLS certification
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

Monitoring post-operative patients’ levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and providing updates to the treatment team as needed.
Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed.
Regularly checking vital signs to quickly intercept any potential issues and ensure a smooth recovery.
Keeping bandages, dressings, etc. clean, dry, and safe.
Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
Updating charts, patient files, and medical records.
