About The Position

Atrium Health Levine Cancer’s Radiation Oncology outpatient services provide advanced, patient-centered care using cutting-edge radiation therapy to treat cancer. With 10 sites across the Charlotte market, each clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including linear accelerators and image-guided systems, allowing for precise targeting of cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. A highly skilled team of radiation oncologists, nurses, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists work collaboratively to deliver personalized treatment plans that minimize side effects and optimize outcomes. Key features include: Advanced Treatment Modalities: IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, brachytherapy, proton beam, and gamma knife therapies. Multidisciplinary Care: Seamless coordination with medical and surgical oncology teams. Patient Comfort & Support: Compassionate care in a welcoming outpatient setting. Clinical Expertise: Board-certified radiation oncologists with subspecialty training. Technology Integration: Real-time imaging and treatment planning systems for accuracy and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • BSN required.
  • RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program upon hire/transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 1 year as RN required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in procedural or peri-anesthesia care (Pre-op, PACU, OR) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
  • Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
