About The Position

Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute – Supportive Oncology is a specialized outpatient practice dedicated to improving the quality of life and overall well-being of patients and families impacted by cancer. Our clinics provide comprehensive supportive care services throughout the cancer continuum, including symptom management, psychosocial support, advance care planning, survivorship care, senior oncology services, integrative medicine, and coordination of community resources. We partner closely with patients receiving active treatment, those transitioning to survivorship, and individuals with advanced or complex cancer-related needs. Our interdisciplinary team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, nurse navigators, social workers, psychologists, pharmacists, dietitians, rehabilitation specialists, chaplains, and care coordinators, all working collaboratively to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. Through a holistic approach, we address physical symptoms, emotional well-being, spiritual concerns, and quality-of-life needs to help patients and their families navigate the cancer journey. The clinics operate Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
  • Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing
  • BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
  • Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
  • May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
