About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The RN will be responsible for supporting patients across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units, ensuring safe and effective care throughout the childbirth process.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
Minimum 1.5–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility
Experience working in hospitals of similar or larger size; trauma center experience is highly preferred for travelers
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to pass pre-employment health screening, drug test, and background check
No history of license suspension, investigation, or professional liability claims

Nice To Haves

Experience in Level 1 trauma hospitals
Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
Ability to scrub in for Cesarean section procedures

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units
Perform patient assessments and deliver care with minimal supervision
Assist in and circulate Cesarean section procedures (scrubbing preferred)
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond to changes appropriately
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Deliver patient education and emotional support throughout the care process
