Requirements

Associate or Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Obtain NRP within six months of hire.
Obtain STABLE certification within 1 year of hire.
Obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
Complete Fetal Heart Monitoring certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of Labor & Delivery, Med Surg, or Post Partum or other RN experience

Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery (LD) nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) who provide direct patient care to antepartum, laboring or post partum mothers, and newly born infants.
This care is in the LD patient rooms, triage or operating room. Staff ratio is 1-2 patients according to AWHONN guidelines.
The nurse reports to the LD charge nurse.
LD RN organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating and communicating with all necessary providers and ancillary departments on an ongoing basis.
