About The Position

The Infusion Therapy Department provides safe and specialized administration of intravenous antibiotic medications, fluids, blood products, and performs therapeutic phlebotomy. The unit is staffed by trained healthcare professionals who monitor patients closely to ensure effective treatment, manage side effects, and support optimal patient outcomes in a comfortable and controlled setting. Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives. Assesses, monitors, and documents patient status while developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care. Provides safe, evidence-based nursing care, administers treatments, responds to emergencies, and delivers patient and family education. Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, facilitate patient flow, and promote positive outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, clinical judgment, SBAR communication, and appropriate delegation to ensure quality, patient-centered care. Demonstrates leadership through teamwork, mentoring, workload prioritization, shared governance, and professional development. Maintains current licensure, continuing education, regulatory compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Kentucky RN license or Kentucky work permit
  • BLS (American Heart Association) and Nurse Wound Care within 30 days
  • Glucometer Training upon hire
  • Aegis Training as .
