About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Plano will bring their passion to the team to be Better + Together. This role is for a Full Time Nights position, working 7 PM to 7 AM for 36 hours per week. The position requires working every other weekend and two major and two minor holidays annually. The Emergency Department is a 52-bed unit with over 41,000 patient visits annually. It offers self-scheduling for work/life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, and is a Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke center. The unit has a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team. Texas Health Plano's 30-Minute Promise aims to reduce patient wait times in the emergency department.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS -Basic Cardiac Life Support -Prior to providing independent patient care & maintained quarterly—required
  • ACLS-Advance Cardiac Life Support- within 90 days required
  • PALS-Pediatric Advance Life Support- within in 90 days required
  • TNCC-Trauma Nursing Core Course –within 12 months required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year of Emergency experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
