About The Position

Join the nationally known American Family Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Diagnostic/Therapy Center. This 100% FTE position involves providing care to a variety of pediatric patients in an outpatient setting requiring day treatment therapies. Responsibilities include administering infusions for conditions such as cancer, hematologic conditions, Crohn’s disease, juvenile arthritis, genetic disorders, transplant, and research. The role also encompasses providing post-anesthesia care, including phase I and phase II recovery following radiologic interventions/treatments. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including proceduralists, specialty providers, APPs, child life specialists, scheduling, and radiology. The position requires setting priorities and adapting to changing patient and unit/clinic situations. The RN will work in two of three care areas: day treatment therapies (infusions, transfusions), sedation for procedures, and pre-post anesthesia care. This role is located at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • 6 months pediatric nursing experience Required
  • Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
  • CPR certification Upon Hire Required
  • PALS certification within 6 months Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year recent (within 2 years) experience in Pediatric Acute Care and/or Pediatric hematology/oncology and/or Pediatric Sedation and/or Pediatric PACU or pre/post anesthesia area Preferred
  • Chemotherapy certification Preferred

Responsibilities
