About The Position

The Cardiovascular Ambulatory Surgery Center/Outpatient Cath Lab is seeking a Registered Nurse. This role involves ensuring quality patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and following state nursing regulations. The nurse will promote patient independence through education, resolve patient problems using multidisciplinary strategies, and protect patients and employees by following infection control, medication administration, and controlled substance protocols. Responsibilities also include documenting in an electronic medical records system, maintaining medical equipment, managing nursing supplies inventory, and staying current with professional knowledge through workshops and networks. The position requires maintaining cooperative relationships within healthcare teams, assisting physicians during procedures, and contributing to overall team efforts.

Requirements

  • Current and active Kansas State Nursing License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Nice To Haves

  • Conscious Sedation Experience Preferred
  • Sedation Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and educating the patient and family members on their conditions.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Document within in an electronic medical records system.
  • Ensures operation and maintenance of medical equipment within the office.
  • Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to work directly with physician and provide assistance during procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
