About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac PCU position is a full-time role on the night shift, working 36 hours per week with three 12-hour shifts. The role is located at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. The department is a 36-bed Cardiac PCU that cares for intermediate/telemetry level patients including post-acute cardiac, general medical, endocrine, GI/renal patients. The facility is a MAGNET facility, a Level III Trauma Center, and a Primary Stroke center. Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
ACLS – within 90 days of hire.
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of basic human needs.
Recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
PCU/Tele and Med/Surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
