About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) for the Brain Injury unit at Sunnyview Rehab Hospital. This is a part-time, per diem position with rotating shifts, requiring availability during the week and on weekends, for both day and night shifts. Candidates must be available to attend a full week of Sunnyview Orientation. The Brain Injury unit specializes in TBI's, Comas, Hemorrhagic Stroke, and Pediatrics. Nurses will be trained for PALS Certification, Trachs, IVs, and Wound Care. The unit provides specialized services like coma recovery, medical care, and stimulation to help patients regain consciousness and function. Assistive technologies like ReWalk™, Ekso™ Exoskeleton, and Litegait® system are used to help patients regain movement and walking ability. Special per diem rates are offered based on monthly commitments. The pay range for non-per diem positions is $40.00 - $53.10, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary by location. Requirements

  • New York State RN License
  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year RN experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain the highest level of customer service while working in a fast paced environment
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Passion to learn, grow and develop in the nursing field

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function.
  • Assist patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
  • Design and implement treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical, psychosocial and spiritual health.
  • Will be trained to perform complex patient assessments and implement intensive interventions (IE. IVP meds, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, ventilators, telemetry, chest tubes, tracheostomy care and weaning, tube feedings, etc).
