About The Position
Sunnyview Rehab Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for their Brain Injury unit. This position involves working 12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a), three days a week, including weekend commitments. The Brain Injury unit specializes in treating patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), Comas, Hemorrhagic Strokes, and Pediatrics. Nurses will receive training in PALS Certification, Tracheostomy care, IV insertion, and Wound Care. A tuition stipend of $5250 per year is provided. The unit offers specialized services such as coma recovery and care for minimally conscious patients, utilizing a gentle approach with self-care activities and tailored stimulation. Patients benefit from assistive technologies and devices like the ReWalk™, Ekso™ Exoskeleton, and Litegait® system to aid in regaining movement and mobility.
Requirements
- New York State RN License
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain the highest level of customer service while working in a fast paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Passion to learn, grow and develop in the nursing field

Responsibilities
- Assist patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Design and implement treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical, psychosocial and spiritual health.
- Will be trained to perform complex patient assessments and implement intensive interventions (IE. IVP meds, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, ventilators, telemetry, chest tubes, tracheostomy care and weaning, tube feedings, etc).
