About The Position

Woodland Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) for their Behavioral Health department. This role is crucial in supporting the department's clinical, operational, and administrative needs. The hospital operates on a psychosocial model of care aimed at reducing suicide rates, addiction-related deaths, and improving community health. Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN license as required by state regulations.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies.
  • Oversee and supervise the shift.
  • Demonstrate leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
  • Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team.
  • Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
  • Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Deliver quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.
  • Assist/perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
