About our team: At Canyon Vista Medical Center, our Behavioral Health team is dedicated to transforming lives through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in supporting adults on their journey toward healing, recovery, and improved wellness in a specialized inpatient behavioral health setting. Our Behavioral Health Unit provides 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and clinical support in a safe, therapeutic environment designed to promote healing and patient safety. Working alongside experienced psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients experiencing mental health challenges, crisis situations, and behavioral health disorders.

Requirements

  • Current Arizona or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License.
  • BCLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Handle with Care certification is preferred.
  • One year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
  • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
