The Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health position involves performing plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. The role requires documenting patient care accurately and in a timely manner, monitoring and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Responsibilities also include assisting patients with daily living activities, collaborating across disciplines for care coordination (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs), assessing learning needs, and providing age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education. The nurse will advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient, participate in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education, and may be assigned to work other shifts/units or be on-call. The Behavioral Health Department fosters a culture of teamwork and effective communication to provide specialized care to patients from Neonatal to Geriatric.
