About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health Intake at its South Campus. The 83-bed behavioral health campus provides a safe, therapeutic environment where team members collaborate with clinicians, physicians, and leadership to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care. The role reviews clinical documentation from referrals and makes patient acceptance decisions in a fast-paced setting, often gathering information and making a determination in less than 15 minutes.

The RN provides and documents patient care, including assessments, care planning, medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other nursing interventions. The position is PRN.

Requirements

• Current active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license; relocating candidates must update licensure to their new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Handle With Care certification within 30 days of hire.
• Two years of Behavioral Health/Psych experience.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation from referrals and accept patients.
• Gather information and make determinations in a fast-paced environment, often in less than 15 minutes.
• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Accurately assess patients and identify their needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
• Complete timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
