About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse - Rheumatology at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers: Employee status and access to a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, and, Vision, 401(K), PTO and Sick time. The position involves caring for an active duty, retiree, and their families with a fully insured patient population. The duty hours are Monday-Friday, 8-10 hour shifts between 0600am and 1800pm, with a 30-minute lunch. There is no on-call requirement and no work on Federal Holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Must hold and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Must have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)).
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in nursing after graduation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in rheumatology, infusion, or oncology.
  • Knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
  • Working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty.
  • Provide care to acutely ill adults and geriatric patients as appropriate.
  • Manage a variety of pharmacological agents, including chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), understanding their desired effects, side effects, and complications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patients’ conditions, including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow-up care.
