About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse - Rheumatology at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision, 401(K), PTO and Sick time. The schedule is 40 hours weekly with duty hours Monday-Friday, 8-10 hour shifts between 0600am - 1800pm, including a 30-minute lunch. There is no on-call requirement and no work on Federal Holidays. The role involves caring for Active Duty military members, retirees, and their families.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US.
Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Must hold and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (ACEN or CCNE accredited).
At least 1 year of experience in nursing after graduation.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in rheumatology, infusion, or oncology.
Knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
Working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
Perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty for acutely ill adults and geriatric patients.
Manage and educate patients on disease processes.
Administer and document patient care, including disease progress, teaching, and follow-up care.
Administer pharmacological agents, including chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), monitoring for desired effects, side effects, and complications.
