Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Radiology department, working night shifts. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to establish patient goals and evaluate progress. The position requires a commitment to professional growth and adherence to Board of Nursing standards. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of ICU or ED experience. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts per week (6:30p - 7:00a) with weekend and on-call requirements. Responsibilities include floating between various Radiology areas (MRI, ROCU, Pet Floro, CT, IV Cubby) as a resource, responding to stat calls, accessing ports, and monitoring pacemakers. Specific duties in nuclear medicine include performing cardiac stress perfusion studies, stress testing in the PET department, viability studies, brain mappings, sarcoid studies, monitoring post-IR procedure patients, assisting with Coronary CTAs, and preparing thyroid cancer patients for Iodine therapies. The nurse will also teach patient care curriculum to nuclear medicine students, focusing on direct patient care, vital signs, and EKG rhythm interpretation.
