About The Position

UW Medical Center-Montlake - Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse. Radiation Oncology provides care to patients of all ages - including pediatric patients - who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Our radiation therapy services have been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best. This position offers a great opportunity for RNs who enjoy working later in the day and providing life-changing treatment for cancer patients.

Requirements

  • 3 years of recent oncology, medical-surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Active BLS
  • Must be willing to work with pediatric patients

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs
  • Serves in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise throughout the shift
  • Supports multiple providers
  • Educates patients and their families on symptom management
  • Assists in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals
  • Supports patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant
  • Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)
  • Performs phone triage
  • Answers patient calls and eCare messages
  • Monitors patient flow in the clinic

Benefits

  • BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
  • Certification premium - $1.25/hour
  • Weekend premium - $4.00/hour
  • On call standby premium - $7.00 per hour
