PRN Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology Clinic
About The Position
Vanderbilt Health is a large, comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics, dedicated to providing world-class care, advancing medicine through patient care, education, and research. The Radiation Oncology Nurses team collaborates to establish patient care plans, coordinates and implements care delivery, and anticipates patient needs across the continuum. They analyze patient information to determine nursing diagnoses, continuously evaluate patient progress, and apply interventions for effective outcomes. The role also involves promoting health and a safe environment. This position is PRN (as needed) and operates Monday-Friday on 10-hour day shifts.

- Relevant Work Experience
- 1 year experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
