About The Position

This position is located on the 4th Floor East Wing, providing care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a total of 55 beds. The patient population includes primarily adults, with rare pediatric cases for those aged 15 and older. The unit focuses on common patient diagnoses such as Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Shortness of breath, COVID-19, Subdural Hematoma, and Weakness. The unit faces specific challenges related to staffing and patient experience, with an emphasis on hourly rounding and responsiveness to patient needs. Successful candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment where team support is crucial. The facility retains the right to cancel up to four shifts for assignments lasting 13 weeks or fewer for shorter commitments. Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Telemetry competency
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) competency
• Experience with EMR System: EPIC
• Experience with IV Pumps: Alaris

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with 55 beds.
• Care for primarily adult patients, with rare pediatric cases aged 15 and older.
• Manage patients with diagnoses including Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Shortness of breath, COVID-19, Subdural Hematoma, and Weakness.
• Adhere to an RN to Patient Ratio of 1:4 for both days and nights.
• Collaborate with Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurses, Educators, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists.
• Utilize hourly rounding and respond to patient needs.
• Work in a collaborative environment where team support is crucial.
