Registered Nurse - Pre-Op
About The Position
This is a 12-week contract assignment for a Pre-Op Registered Nurse in a perioperative setting. The role offers 32 guaranteed hours per week on an 8-hour day shift schedule (6:30 AM to 3:00 PM). Possible start dates are April 13th or April 27th. The position is located in an outpatient surgery environment within a critical access hospital, which has 2 operating rooms and 1 procedure room. Common case types include endoscopy, eye procedures, pain management, general surgery, and urology. Scrubs are provided by the unit. Guaranteed weekly hours are provided except during holidays when the unit is closed. Orientation week hours are not guaranteed.
Requirements
- Candidates must live outside the 50-mile radius requirement.
- Valid Minnesota RN license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- At least 2 years of experience.
- Skilled in intra-op, pre-op, and post-op care.
- EPIC charting experience required.
- Associate Degree or certificate.
- ASN or BSN education accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an outpatient surgery environment.
- Experience in a critical access hospital setting.
- Familiarity with endoscopy, eye procedures, pain management, general surgery, and urology case types.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative care to patients.
- Manage patient care in a perioperative setting.
- Perform EPIC charting.
- Be prepared for low census situations.
- Be prepared for possible on-call placement based on unit needs.
