About The Position
Perioperative nurses must demonstrate strong critical-thinking skills to prepare patients for surgery along with manage unstable postoperative patients. Perioperative nurses work closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and ancillary departments to maintain a safe and efficient patient care environment. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and time management skills. Requirements
- Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
- Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
