About The Position

We are a busy, fast paced 31 bed PACU that recoveries patients that have had general anesthesia from the main OR, CVOR, EP lab, cath lab, endoscopy, medical imaging, and interventional radiology. 30% of our patient population is children (infants to adolescents), while the rest is adults. Generally, we staff one nurse to two patients based on acuity and age and are considered a critical care unit. Requirements

Nursing Degree (ADN or BSN)
2+ years nursing experience in a hospital setting
Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
BLS required

Nice To Haves

PACU, Critical Care or ED experience highly preferred
ACLS preferred
PALS preferred

Responsibilities

Recover patients that have had general anesthesia from the main OR, CVOR, EP lab, cath lab, endoscopy, medical imaging, and interventional radiology.
Provide care for a patient population that is 30% children (infants to adolescents) and 70% adults.
Staff one nurse to two patients based on acuity and age.
Take 1-2 call shifts in an 8-week timeframe (either back-up call for the night or evening shift or call to cover the weekends including one summer and one winter holiday).
Respond to calls within 30 minutes when on call.
