About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and covers a variety of cases including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General surgery. Higher acuity cases are handled on this unit. The unit is overseen by a Charge Nurse and Supervisor. There are specific holiday expectations, requiring the nurse to work two major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the specialty (Post Anesthesia Care Unit).
• Required AHA ACLS certification.
• Required AHA BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Handle cases including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General surgery.
• Manage higher acuity cases.
• Work holidays as required: 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
• Ensure compliance with required certifications and due dates.
• Have a badge photo taken.
