About The Position

This is a newly created Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit that plays a critical role in ensuring safe overnight recovery, smooth patient flow, and exceptional family-centered care for pediatric surgical patients. The unit focuses on overnight postoperative monitoring and recovery, bridging the gap between the Pediatric PACU and discharge. The role requires strong pediatric assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and comfort working independently at night. Nurses will provide postoperative nursing care, monitor recovery, pain control, airway stability, hydration status, and pediatric vital signs. They will also deliver family-centered education and reassurance, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support safe, timely next-day discharge. This role is part of a phased expansion with structured onboarding and cross-training opportunities.
