About The Position
Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is seeking dynamic Registered Nurses to join their team. This role is for a full-time position with 8-hour shifts (7am - 3:30PM) and includes a $10K sign-on bonus. Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital specializes in providing behavioral health and psychiatric support to children and teens aged 3 to 17, focusing on compassion, respect, and evidence-based treatment approaches to instill hope. The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care on a designated unit, consistent with the hospital's philosophy and objectives. This includes prescribing, coordinating, and delegating nursing care within a multidisciplinary treatment team plan. The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities per shift and responsible for promoting professional nursing practice on the unit. The role also involves the authority to initiate restraints or seclusion and assess their continuation.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Current license to practice nursing in Illinois.
- Nursing (RN) experience required.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Behavioral health experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care on a designated unit.
- Prescribe, coordinate, and delegate nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
- Integrate nursing care into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care.
- Be accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis.
- Promote and enhance professional nursing practice on the unit.
