About The Position

Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. It is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, and offers specialized services through the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Lipson Cancer Institute, Neuroscience Institute, Pediatric & Young Adult Emergency Center, Twig Birthing Center, and advanced surgical programs including vascular, thoracic, and surgical oncology. This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact).
• EPIC experience required.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification (must be valid and included in submittal).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with long term pulmonary patients.
• Experience with ENT surgery.
• Experience with surgical procedures requiring step down level of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide Telemetry and Stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC).
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula.
• Perform non-invasive airway management.
• Manage cardiac drips (no titration).
• Administer blood products.
• Provide central line care/management.
• Provide peripheral line care/management.
• Perform IV therapy/phlebotomy.
• Implement isolation precautions.
• Float within skillset as needed.
