About The Position

This is a PCU RN position with specific requirements regarding ratios, experience, and scheduling. The nurse will be part of a float pool, not assigned to a home unit, and will float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and potentially other Metro campuses. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and managing various patient conditions such as sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID. The role also involves virtual nursing, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell.

Requirements

1 to 2 Years Experience Required.
BLS certification
NIHSS certification
Ability to work 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period (combination of Fri/Sat/Sun).
Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
Ability to float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU Departments and other Metro campuses.
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Telemetry - on the unit monitoring
Pre/Post Cardiac Cath care
Management of Sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, Renal Failure, AFIB, GIB, Stroke, COVID.
Virtual Nurses
12 lead EKG
AirVo
Voalte
Omnicell

Responsibilities

Provide care in Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments.
Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other Metro campuses as needed.
Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
Monitor telemetry on the unit.
Provide pre/post Cardiac Cath care.
Manage patients with conditions including Sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, Renal Failure, AFIB, GIB, Stroke, and COVID.
Utilize virtual nursing technology.
Perform 12 lead EKGs.
Operate AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems.
