About The Position
This is a 41-bed progressive care trauma / Tele unit primarily geared towards adult patients requiring care after experiencing traumatic injury typically requiring surgical intervention. The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 flexing up to 1:5 as needed. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring for up to 14 patients. Patients on 7 East and West are hemodynamically stable. Examples of these patients include those with injuries related to gunshot wounds or other penetrating injury, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls.
Requirements
- AHA ACLS certification
- BCLS certification
- NIH certification
- TELE certification
- Pass medication test
- 2+ years of experience for first-time travelers
Responsibilities
- Provide care for adult patients requiring progressive care after traumatic injury.
- Monitor patients requiring telemetry.
- Manage patients with injuries related to gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.
