Seasonal Registered Nurse Patient Care Unit (PCU)
About The Position
Vail Health has become the world’s most advanced mountain healthcare system. Vail Health consists of an updated 520,000-square-foot, 56-bed hospital. This state-of-the-art facility provides exceptional care to all of our patients, with the most beautiful views in the area, located centrally in Vail. This is a seasonal position (October/November - April) where you will have the opportunity to embrace the winter wonderland of Vail, Colorado with world-class skiing/snowboarding and the vibrant atmosphere of a top notch hospital with a strong orthopedic case load. Our seasonal staff are eligible for Vail Health supported housing, season completion bonus, health insurance, wellness reimbursement credit ($300) and 403(b) retirement contribution eligibility. The position offers a peaceful, state-of-the-art PCU space with stunning mountain views, in-room physical and occupational therapy to enhance patient outcomes, collaborative team rounding and bedside care. It is a full-time night shift with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Minimum of an Associate Nursing Degree (for positions hired after 07/01/2018).
Nice To Haves
- PCU or Med-Surg nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.
- Perform nursing duties in a PCU or Med-Surg setting.
- Collaborate with the team during rounding and bedside care.
- Administer in-room physical and occupational therapy as needed.
