About The Position

Tryfacta is seeking a Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for our client in Rochester, NY 14621. This is a 13-week contract assignment. The role involves providing direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring progressive/step-down level care. Responsibilities include monitoring patients through continuous telemetry and cardiac monitoring, assessing and responding to cardiac dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition, administering medications and IV therapies, monitoring vital signs and overall patient condition, providing oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management, performing central and peripheral line care, administering and monitoring blood products, responding to emergencies and participating in Rapid Response and Code Team activities, performing IV therapy and phlebotomy, maintaining accurate documentation using Epic EMR, and following isolation precautions and appropriate PPE protocols.

Requirements

  • Active New York RN License is required — pending licenses are not accepted. New York is not a Compact State, so an active NY Single-State RN License is mandatory.
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.
  • Please ensure a valid NIHSS certification is included with the candidate's submission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring progressive/step-down level care.
  • Monitor patients through continuous telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
  • Assess, interpret, and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips without titration as ordered.
  • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygen levels, and overall patient condition.
  • Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management when required.
  • Perform central and peripheral line care, including assessment and maintenance.
  • Administer and monitor blood products according to facility protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activities.
  • Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
  • Follow isolation precautions and appropriate PPE protocols.
