About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Palliative Care is responsible for delivering care that promotes the safety and well-being of patients requiring chronic medical and palliative care. This role is on a 16-bed unit dedicated to patients with chronic medical conditions and palliative care needs. The patient population includes individuals with multiple acute and chronic diseases such as COPD, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Infectious Diseases, as well as those facing end-of-life care. The unit is known for its teamwork and collaboration, offering flexible self-scheduling.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma of Nursing (required)
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire (required)
  • Current BLS prior to providing independent patient care.
  • CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
  • One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program (required)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience as an Med/surg RN and end of life care preferred
  • Strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
