About The Position
The Registered Nurse PACU provides direct nursing care to patients as they emerge from anesthesia and move through post-surgical recovery, following hospital protocols. The role involves monitoring, recording, and interpreting patient conditions, carrying out physician orders, and communicating with families and the surgical team. The nurse coordinates with other medical disciplines as needed and supports safe transitions through discharge planning. This is a PRN day-shift position at Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, Illinois, in the PACU department.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Registered Nurse credential from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.
- At least 1 year of experience.
