Responsible for assessing and preparing patients for surgery, monitoring and caring for patients during the recovery phase, and assisting with preparing inpatient transfer or discharge from the facility. This role involves recovering and monitoring higher acuity patients, including those with chest tubes and central lines, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and those requiring longer ventilator support post-operatively. The nurse will directly care for both medical and surgical observation patients admitted to observation beds from the emergency department, through direct admission, and/or post-surgical status. Receives direction from Providers, Anesthesia providers, Nurse Manager, and Charge Nurse. Gives direction to LPN and C.N.A.
