About The Position

Responsible for assessing and preparing patients for surgery, monitoring and caring for patients during the recovery phase, and assisting with inpatient transfer or discharge from the facility. This role involves recovering and monitoring higher acuity patients, including those with chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and those requiring longer ventilator support post-operatively. The Registered Nurse also directly cares for medical and surgical observation patients admitted to observation beds from the emergency department, through direct admission, and/or post-surgical status.

Requirements

  • Graduate of RN Nursing Program
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience in Med/Surgical or Critical Care Nursing
  • Current MT RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Basic Nursing principles and procedures
  • IV skills
  • Basic office skills

  • Training will be provided for HOPD staff to recover and monitor higher acuity patients
