This PACU unit has availability for nurses who are team players and eager to learn and grow their critical nursing skills. The unit recovers patients from a variety of procedure and surgical areas post-anesthesia. The unit is open Monday – Friday with some on-call on the weekends and weeknights that is rotating with all staff. The PACU unit has 15 bays and cares for post-surgical patients from General, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Ortho, Thoracic, GYN, Transplant, IR, GI, and ERCP, as well as outpatient post-surgical patients.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of RN experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with epidurals, CADD pumps, vent management, art lines, assessment skills, lab draws, PCAs, pain/nausea management.
Responsibilities
- Recover patients from a variety of procedure and surgical areas post-anesthesia.
- Provide care for post-surgical patients including General, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Ortho, Thoracic, GYN, Transplant, IR, GI, and ERCP.
- Care for outpatient post-surgical patients.
- Utilize nursing skills such as epidural and CADD pump management, vent management, art lines, assessment skills, lab draws, PCA management, and pain/nausea management.
- Administer ACLS and PALS.
