About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Perioperative Care department at Columbia St Mary's Milwaukee. The position is PRN with a rotating shift schedule. The nurse will be responsible for following aseptic sterile technique, evaluating patient responses to treatments, managing patient pain, and anticipating case-specific needs based on procedure knowledge and pathophysiology.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
Manage patient's pain.
Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.
