About The Position
SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) PACU for overnight observation in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Texas Health Surgery Center. The position is PRN, with shifts from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and occasional Tuesdays. The nurse assesses patients throughout their episode of care, develops an individualized perianesthesia plan of care, and provides accurate, concise, pertinent hand-off reports to teammates. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state licensure to practice in good standing.
- Complete a Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) course within 90 days of employment, or provide documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Complete an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course within 90 days of employment, or provide documentation of current ACLS certification.
- If pediatric care is included in the facility’s scope of services, complete a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course within 90 days of employment or provide documentation of current PALS certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year of PACU experience.
- Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing or Perianesthesia.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient status throughout the episode of care.
- Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
- Provide teammates with accurate, concise, pertinent hand-off reports on the patient’s condition and response to care.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
