About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - OR/Sedation position at the West Side Surgery Center supports the Operating Room (OR) and provides sedation to cataract surgery patients. The role involves learning to circulate all eye procedures performed at the center. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills.
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.
  • Support the OR and provide sedation to cataract surgery patients.
  • Learn to circulate all eye procedures performed at the West Side Surgery Center.
  • Be on call for emergency procedures at the Main hospital (once every 5-6 weekends).
  • Be on call one day per weekday.
