About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with OR Scrub/Circulate experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Windsor, VT. This role involves providing specialized care in a surgical services department with 2 operating rooms and a procedure room, handling mostly outpatient procedures with limited inpatient care for patients ages 16 and older. The services provided include General surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, and endoscopy procedures. The Clinical Nurse is a key member of the surgical team, functioning in both circulating and scrubbing capacities.

Requirements

Minimum 2-5 years of experience
Scrubbing and Circulating experience; both specialty skill checklists MUST be in profile to move forward with presenting to client
Experience working in a smaller OR facility
Phase I/PACU experience
CERNER EMR EXPERIENCE
Travel experience is highly preferred
Must have MULTIPLE SURGICAL EXPERIENCE
Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle.
Must have ACLS (AHA) certification
Must have Vermont RN License; Compact Allowed
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).
Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer; After 3 call offs, a traveler's contract will be eligible for termination due to lack of attendance at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center's discretion Each call off must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
Travelers may not take all holidays off. MUST work TWO blocks (if scheduled/needed): Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and weekend after, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and weekend after, New Year Eve through New Year Day and weekend after

Responsibilities

Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
Provides rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to: ADL retraining; therapeutic activities; therapeutic exercises; modalities; use of supportive and assistive devices; etc. Under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Assesses patient’s progress and communicates with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provides consultation and to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the cognitive and/or physical disorders.
Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
Provides input to supervisor for discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.
Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.
Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements.
Participation in required meetings including but not limited to: patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, etc.
Participate in facility and company required trainings, in-services and conferences.
Able to work with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
Able to supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
Adherence to NBCOT / AOTA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.
