About The Position

The Registered Nurse or LPN-IV provides psychiatric nursing care by implementing the nursing process and carrying out physician orders for diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care. The role includes assessing patients, monitoring and evaluating care quality, documenting interventions, and communicating findings to physicians as needed. The nurse also educates patients, staff, and family members about treatments and nursing plans to support safe discharge. Additional duties include responding to emergencies, maintaining medication and supply availability, keeping equipment and the environment clean, and serving as an ambassador and advocate for Firelands Medical Center.

Requirements

• Current Ohio RN or LPN-IV license.
• CPR certification prior to patient-care experience.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Psychiatric Certification.
• Basic EKG.
• ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Instruct patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans, and related patient care directed toward a safe discharge.
• Respond to emergencies.
• Maintain the availability of medications and supplies and ensure the cleanliness of equipment and the environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
