About The Position

This Registered Nurse position is in the Main Operating Room, which does not perform Neurosurgery, L&D, Endo, or Cardiothoracic surgeries. The unit focuses on outpatient procedures, with 95% of patients going home the same day. Procedures include Total Joints, Spine surgeries, Sports Medicine, Podiatry, General/Laparoscopic surgeries (including robotics), Vascular procedures, minimal GYN, and Cysto procedures. The unit has 7 rooms with an average daily census of 20-25 patients. The required systems are Epic and Pyxis, and SBAR is used for communication.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
BLS certification required.
Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems.
Ability to work blocked Friday-Sunday shifts.
Willingness to work every other weekend.
Willingness to work holidays as assigned.
Ability to adhere to full compliance requirements for timely start.

Experience with OSI Spine and Fx table, Allen Spine table, Hana table, Arthrex Scope Tower, Misonix Box Scalpel, Aquamantys, Stryker PI drill, Olympus Laparoscopic Video Equipment, Trident, Savi Scout, Neoprobe, NIMS monitor, Davinci XI, Covidian bovie with Ligasure, Harmonic Scalpel, Conmed Smoke Evac, Neptunes with Smoke Evac, Zeiss Microscope, Leg Splitters, Trumpf table for robotic suite.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing duties in the Main Operating Room.
Care for adult to geriatric patients.
Assist with a variety of surgical procedures including Total Joints, Spine, Sports Medicine, General/Laparoscopic, Robotics, Vascular, and Urology.
Utilize Epic and Pyxis systems.
Communicate using SBAR.
Work every other weekend.
Work holidays as assigned based on contract length.
Be available for minimal call requirements.
Adhere to full compliance for timely start.
