The RN for Oncology provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. The role involves utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Key responsibilities include performing assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring accurate documentation. The nurse will develop and execute patient care plans, provide patient and family education, and participate in performance improvement activities. This role also involves resolving systems breakdowns, managing complex patient situations, and delegating appropriately. The nurse will contribute positively to professional and organizational environments, engage in personal development, and support continuous learning and growth. Clinic and Ambulatory RNs will also maintain timely patient flow, respond to telephone calls, and perform telephone triage.
