About The Position

Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time, dayshift position in Obstetrics. CMMC is a 250-bed regional referral hospital and part of Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine. CMH includes CMMC, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital, as well as the Maine College of Health Professions. CMMC is home to specialized centers including the Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, and serves as the base for LifeFlight of Maine.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license
BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace.
Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors.
Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
