Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year medical/surgical experience in acute care setting required.
• Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
• Successful completion of BLS Provider Course prior to being released from unit orientation. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of ACLS Provider Course within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of S.T.A.B.L.E Program within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.
• Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
• Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
• Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
• Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
• Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
• May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification within 3 years preferred.
• RNC, RN, or Obstetrical Nursing Certification preferred.
• Completion of the Obstetrical Screening Exam Competency within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice
• Ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with CRMC Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements.
• Exhibiting critical thinking, effectively organizing/prioritizing accordingly, and implementing evidence-based nursing.
