The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Observation Department at Texas Health Fort Worth will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning the care of the patient, intervening as appropriate, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and incorporating age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. The RN will also initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information and maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. This is a PRN position with rotating shifts, requiring at least 1 shift per 6-week schedule, covering both 7:00 am – 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 7:00 am. The department is a fast-paced 23-bed Observation Unit with an average patient stay of 24-48 hours, primarily serving patients with conditions such as chest pain/rule out, MI, COPD, Dehydration, Syncope, UTI, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, allergic reaction, and cellulitis.
