About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Dept. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Work hours: PRN, Nights - Requires at least 1 shift per 6 week schedule, 7:00 pm -7:00 am. Department highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Fast paced 23 bed Observation Unit with an average patient stay of 24-48 hours, primarily serves patients with chest pain/rule out, MI, COPD, Dehydration, Syncope, UTI, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, allergic reaction and cellulitis among others.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
One-year experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting required
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS within 90 days of hire required
CPI within 90 days of hire required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
